It may not look like it, but you receiving this email is a small miracle.
Sometime during late 2022, my website’s automated email distribution program “broke”. Now, I am not sure if I broke it or if it broke on its own, but I can confirm that it was definitely broken. I am not tech savvy. I am more tech-adjacent…LOL. Meaning, I can figure out most things with instructions, but for some reason, I could not get BBIC’s automated email to work.
What to do?
To start, I did the usual things, contacted my email provider, read Word Press user blogs and watched a lot of YouTube videos, to no avail. My website would not automate emailing new post updates. It was both frustrating and slightly discouraging. My blog was finally getting a little traction and I felt this could undo all my previous work. So, I quit trying to figure out the problem for a couple of months and began the manual process of emailing post updates. It was a pain, but doable, so I powered on. All the while, anytime I stumbled upon a possible fix, I tried it. However as 2022 moved over into 2023 there was still no fix in sight.
Getting frustrated!
I was really at my wit’s end with this automation thing, and had begun looking for alternate email distribution methods. Hey the show must go on, so I considered changing providers, just in case it was them, moving the whole process over to Google and a couple of other options. Finally, as a last ditch effort, I decided to give the current automated process one more try. I reviewed the entire process, rechecked all my settings, and Eureka!! I found the error, corrected it and the automation process has been working without a hitch. ** JOY **
So what does my website’s technical problems have to do with you and your financial challenges?
The power of perseverance!
Dealing with your finances can get frustrating, as well, whether it’s because you have “more month than money” or you are trying to determine the best financial plan for your life. The truth is you can actually be going along, just fine, and then something happens to upend your whole financial world. It could be caused by something you did, you didn’t do, or something completely out of your control. The results the same…financial turmoil.
So you gear up to fix the issue, but nothing you do seems to solve the problem. Frustration and annoyance sets in with yourself, others, the “system”. You truly just want to throw your hands up and walk away. And know what? You should, at least for a little while. You are not shirking your financial responsibilities, but getting some air, stepping away from the problem to calm down. Consult with a trusted family member, friends or a financial counselor to ask for their point of view and maybe help. Do not be afraid or ashamed to reach out. We have all made money missteps, so no one can judge you.
Time to Ride!
Next, get back on your “financial horse” and prepare to ride. Similar to what I had to do with my website, you may have to do a complete review of your financial situation before you finally develop a plan that works for you. Again, do not be afraid to ask for advice, help or to try something completely different. You CAN do it, and you will do it, so you can get back on the right financial path.
The key is to not give up, but to continue and persevere.
