No matter how extreme your financial situation may be, always try to leave at least a little room for fun. Now that does not mean go splurge and blow the rent money or mortgage. Instead find inexpensive simple ways to bring joy into your and your family’s life.
Think about things you can do at home, like a picnic in the backyard or dinner by candlelight. Create your own ice cream bar or your favorite treat for dessert. Anything to make the day/night special, without breaking the bank.
As a couple, you should try to schedule a getaway, even if it is just a few hours or day, away from the kids to reconnect. Allow yourself to still enjoy the pleasures and beauties of life to remind yourself what you are working so hard for.
Fun doesn’t have to cost a lot.
Tip: Make finding the most fun but least expensive, way a challenge. You could “award” homemade certificates, ribbons or even a beauty queen type sash…LOL! However you want to do, make it uniquely yours.
