With all the talk about recession looming, people are getting weary. The past three to four years have been turbulent and we are all just trying to get back used to getting outside again. It can be difficult to maintain, let alone succeed, during this time, but let me encourage you…
We Can Do Hard Things!
I first heard this statement from a minister, and he heard it from his daughter-in-law who is an elementary teacher. Whenever her students found themselves struggling or frustrated with their assignments, she would gently but confidently remind them, they can do hard things.
The phrase stuck with me because kids are not the only one who need to hear those words. We “grown folks” do too. Too often, we as adults, walk around “confidently clueless”. Meaning, we look, talk, act confident but have no clue as to how we will get over the hurdle before us. The doubt effects our sleep, stress, decisions, finances and mental/physical health. Unchecked, it can consume us. Having someone to reassure us that, yes, we can conquer the proverbial mountain before us, makes a huge difference.
Some challenges have little, if anything, to do with our finances. Think about it. Just as certain sectors of our economy were decimated during the pandemic, others boomed and had record growth. People in both sectors still faced personal challenges. Loved ones died. Marriages deteriorated. Children rebelled. No matter the situation, I want you remember…
You Can Do Hard Things!
You can not only survive but succeed no matter what life throws at you.
Most of us understand it is nearly impossible to get through life without experiencing an event with the potential to break you. An event that touches your core and forces you to dig deep within yourself to recover or internally die.
Surviving the last few years is a testament proving the statement. You are still here. We are still here. The situation, though tragic, did not end us.
Hope remains.
Reach for it!
You Can INDEED…Do Hard Things!
